- Wash apples thoroughly and remove cores using an apple corer or knife. Slice crosswise into thin rounds approximately 1/8 inch thick using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife for uniform thickness.
- Pat apple slices dry with paper towels to remove excess surface moisture, which helps achieve optimal crispiness during air frying.
- Place apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Work in batches if necessary to ensure proper air circulation and even cooking.
- Lightly spray or brush slices with oil if desired for enhanced crispiness. Sprinkle ground cinnamon evenly over all slices, adding optional sugar at this stage if using.
- Air fry at 325°F for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping all slices after 7 minutes. Monitor closely during the final minutes to prevent over-browning, as cooking times vary by apple variety and thickness.
- Remove golden, crisp chips from air fryer and transfer to a wire rack. Allow to cool completely as chips will continue to crisp during cooling. Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
